Xiaomi released a list of mobile phones that will receive massive updates in the fourth quarter (Q4) this year. All phones in the list will get operating system updates to 8.1 Oreo and 9.0 Pie.
Xiaomi's list was released through the official page. According to Xiaomi, devices that have previously received two major updates will no longer get this update.
Most of these phones are not newcomers. Most are Xiaomi phones that still use the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system such as Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, and Redmi 5 Plus. In addition, Xiaomi also decided not to provide many updates to its old devices.
Despite this there are some old Xiaomi phones that still receive this major update such as Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Note 2.
