Microsoft runs the Data Eraser "Bug" in Windows 10 Update

After being made excited by the removal of personal data as a result of an update (version 1809) of Windows 10, this week the user was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. The reason is, Microsoft has corrected this harmful bug.

"We have traced all data loss reports and have made improvements to the update." said John Cable, Director of Microsoft Windows Servicing and Delivery Program Management.

The repaired update has begun to be released to members of the Windows Insider program. Cable has not dared to give more statements about when this October update will be distributed to public users.

"We will slowly study the feedback and diagnostic data from Insiders users before releasing it more widely," he added, as summarized by KompasTekno from The Verge, Thursday (11/10/2018).

Previously, a number of Windwos 10 users complained about various document files and folders being deleted after installing the Windows 10 update version 1089 for October 2018.

This problem is caused by the algorithm that Microsoft implemented in the October update that intends to tidy up duplicate folders and user folders (documents, videos, music, photos) that are usually empty.

Despite its contents, the folder is still deleted by the system and causes data loss. Microsoft immediately pulled out the 1089 update after receiving successive complaints from Windows 10 users.

The Windows 1089 update was promised to bring major changes such as the Your Device feature, for ease of device management, and Windows 10 Feedback Tool, but it turned out to contain the fatal problem above.
