Gmail Active Users Translates 1.5 Billion people

Gmail, Google's electronic mail service, continues to attract internet users from year to year. Recently, Google stated that Gmail's active users have reached 1.5 billion.
The achievement of the number of users was announced by Google via a tweet on Gmail's official Twitter account on Friday (10/26/2018). "1.5 billion users and continues to grow.
Thank you. "Gmail wrote in a tweet on the Twitter account @ gmail. The thanks were accompanied by funny animated pictures.
This figure increased 33 percent from the previous record in February 2016, which at that time Gmail "just" penetrated "1 billion active users. In 2012, Gmail had 425 million active users.
Two years later, that number doubled to 900 million users where 75 percent of users access Gmail from mobile, as summarized by KompasTekno from Phonearena, Sunday (10/28/2018).
By reaching billions, Gmail users are said to be comparable to the world's population of 7.53 billion people. In other words, one Gmail account is owned by every five people in the world.
However, keep in mind, one person can have more than one Gmail account so it is possible that active users of billions are only estimates, and real value is actually less than 1.5 billion people.
However, this number is higher than other competitors, such as Microsoft's Hotmail, which only has 400 million active users in early 2018, and Yahoo Mail which only has 227.8 million active users as of July.
For information, Gmail was first launched on the desktop version in April 2004 as a limited beta e-mail service for several users. This beta program runs until July 2009.
