Later Earphones with "Google Assistant" Can Translate Speakers

Like an interpreter, Pixel Buds wireless earphones from Google are able to translate words from the other person directly into the user's ear thanks to Google Translate technology. The translation capability was initially only available exclusively on Pixel Buds earphones paired with Google Pixel smartphones. However, recently, the official Google Support page mentions that Google Translate can be used in other earphones that support Google Asistant's personal assistant software technology on Android-based non-Pixel phones.

However, recently, the official Google Support page mentions that Google Translate can be used in other earphones that support Google Asistant's personal assistant software technology on Android-based non-Pixel phones. "Google Translate is available on all headphones of Android-based phones that use Google Assistant." Google's official page said, the statement was secretly changed by Google at the end of last week, after previously saying "Google Translate on Google Pixel Buds is only available on Pixel phones, "As summarized by KompasTekno from Droid Life, Tuesday (10/16/2018).

It should be added that the earphones used must support Google Assistant technology, as well as the smartphones used. In addition there must be an internet connection to run the translation. There is no list of earphones that can be used to translate interlocutors via Google Translate like Pixel Buds. Some earphone models such as Sony 1000XM2 Bose QC35 II, LG Tone Platinum, and JBL Everest 110GA are known to support Google Assistant and can be tested.

How to translate?

The mechanism of use is fairly simple. First of all - if using the Buds Pixel - touch and hold the earbud in the right ear with your finger to call the Google Assistant. Next, instruct Google Assistant with voice to help translate the language. For example "Help me interpret Spanish" (help me translate Spanish).

The Assistant will then run Google Translate in conversation mode with the requested language translation mode (Spanish, in the example above) to the user's default language. After that two actions can be done. The first is to translate words in the user's original language to be heard by the interlocutor in the language of translation.

How to do this, touch and hold the earbud right with your finger, then speak in the language listed below the headset icon. Release the finger when it's finished and the cellphone will read the translation result through the speaker so that the other person can hear it.

The second action is to translate the words of the other person. To do this, press and hold the microphone button on the Google Translate application on the mobile. After hearing the bell, ask the conversation partner to start speaking in the language to be translated.

When finished, release the finger from the microphone button, the audio in the language of the translation will be played directly into the user's ear via the earphone.
